Name: Daniel Schwartz
Age: 13
...Daniel started playing chess as a young child,
when his father sat him down and taught him the basic rules
of the game. Daniel picked it up right away and it wasn't
long before the student became the teacher.
"He taught me the rules and I started beating him,"
Daniel says.
As a second-grader, he took second place overall in
his first chess tournament - a competition that included
players twice his age. He began entering other contests
while taking lessons from a number of teachers, including
local master Zoran Lazetich.
"He took me from being a beginner to an advanced
player,"...
...One of the problems with being a chess prodigy
is that it's hard to find good competition. That's why
Daniel has turned to the Internet to take on players
from around the globe..."
